The stalking and failed abduction incident in ’69 in Ocean City (the build-up to it and the aftermath)

Image
In early 1969, according to his confession to Dorothy Lewis, Ted Bundy went to Temple University in Philadelphia, which is close to Ocean City... Later on that same year, in the spring, he went to Ocean City, New Jersey. He also told Lewis that in the late winter of ’68, early spring of ’69, the “entity” began to reach the point where it was necessary to act out, to begin to stalk, to look, and he then ended up stalking around the downtown area of Ocean City, New Jersey, trailing women, and he approached a woman whom he then attempted to abduct, but she escaped, which Ted put down to his having been inept at focusing on the aggression he was perpetrating. He also told Lewis that in Ocean City he acted out a vision he’d been having of some attractive woman. He’d been having this vision since his arrival in Philadelphia in early 1969. Ted Bundy’s October 19, 1979 letter to Mary DeLong

Image
On October 19, 1979, Ted Bundy wrote a two page letter to Mary DeLong saying that he was in good physical and mental condition, and he also mentioned Carole Boone’s plan to move to Florida. The letter includes the original mailing envelope written by Bundy who has used his attorney's name (Marlin Vortman, also his friend) and return address in the upper left corner. I feel so selfish because I tend to be caught up in my own difficulties when I should be sensitive to the hardships of those I care a lot for. Dear Mary I cannot imagine you in ill health. You have such a free and youthful spirit. I was surprised constantly during your hospitalization. This too was selfish, since I p...

Ted Bundy signed postcard from Colorado, 1977

Image
Supernaught is selling a new postcard that Ted Bundy sent to Mary Delong. The handwritten postcard was addressed to Mary DeLong, from Seattle, Wa. It’s a Colorado Springs postcard postmarked from Colorado Springs, CO March 1977. Bundy has hand dated this March 1, 1977 less than a year before his Colorado escape.  Here is the transcript of what Ted wrote on the postcard: 3/1/77   Dear Mary,      This is definitely no substitute for a letter but, considering my spasmatic penmenship [sic] it is certainly prettier. Aspen is supposed to be a spectacular place. One of these days I hope they give me a tour. I don’t have a view apartment.     Am feeling great!            love, ted                                   ...
