The articles were originally published in old issues of The Straight Creek Journal in the late 70's and early 80's, and I got them from the Colorado Historic Newspapers Collection. The articles examined in exhaustive detail all that was known about Ted at the time, and the crimes for which he was accused or suspected. The specifications are in the titles of the pdf files.
Some of the articles were part of an exclusive, book-length, serialized story of Ted Bundy and the crimes for which he was being investigated. Author Steven Winn contributed to that story, in conjunction with Ron Wolf in Colorado and David Merrill in Utah. Those articles, drawing on police information that had never been made public before, represented the first comprehensive account of Ted Bundy and the “Ted” crimes. In addition, serious questions about police procedure were raised for the first time.
The installments of that story written by a team of investigative reporters from Colorado, Washington, Utah and Florida, were digitized and so I could get them in pdf format.
Many of the articles were centered around whether Ted was being framed.
The Straight Creek Journal published its lengthy account of Ted Bundy and the crimes that had been blamed on him during an eight month-period.
The series of articles published in The Straight Creek Journal, appeared simultaneously, in somewhat different form, in The Weekly in Seattle and Utah Holiday magazine in Salt Lake City.
For those of you who don’t have Winn’s and Merrill’s book “Ted Bundy: The Killer Next Door”, these articles written by Winn and Merrill will give you an idea of what is in the book.
And there are also other articles added in the mix, by other reporters (Robert Cox, Sam Cox, George Thurston).
